Girls Gymnastics

Girls Gymnastics

The goal of our girls gymnastics program is to teach gymnastics skills in a fun and safe environment. In addition to learning cartwheels and bar pull-overs, your daughter will gain key development skills such as balance, coordination and self confidence that will help her in all areas of her life. USA’s girls gymnastics program emphasizes the importance of positive feedback and confidence building. We recognize the importance of students being confident in themselves both on and off the floor.

Along with strength and flexibility training, students will work on skills on the four Olympic events: vault, uneven parallel bars, balance beam and floor exercise. We also incorporate trampoline exercise and basic dance skills to enhance the technique of these tricks.

We offer a Recreational Gymnastics Program for girls age 4+ to teach skills at Levels 1-3, as well as a Competitive Gymnastics Program for Levels 4-10. All skill development is based off of the USAG Junior Olympic program and will be used to assess and place students in the appropriate level.

All new students will be placed in a Level 1 class. Experienced athletes should request an evaluation through the program director.

Novice

(Age 4 – 6 yrs)

This program is typically for a child who has taken preschool gymnastics, understands basic positions and movements and is ready to begin learning Level 1 skills. If a child is beginning gymnastics at age 4 or 5, she should try a preschool gymnastics class first and ask a coach’s evaluation for class placement.

Level 1

(Ages 6 & older)

Level 1 is the starting place for your beginner level gymnast. Core positions and skills, basic flexibility and strength will all be taught in this class. Gymnasts will learn skills on all of the Women’s Gymnastics events including Floor, Bars, Balance Beam, and Vault. We also utilize the in-ground tumble track and trampoline to work with your child on advanced skills.

Level 2 and Level 3

(Age 6 & older)

A coach recommendation and completion of all Level 1 skills are required for Level 2. The student continues skill development on all events for both levels. The Level 2 class time is increased to 1.5 hours and Level 3 is increased to 2 hours.

Level 4 Recreational

(Age 6 & older)

A coach recommendation and completion of all Level 3 skills are required for Level 4. Gymnasts will begin working Level 4 skills and routines in preparation for competition levels. Level 4 classes are 2 hours and 2 or more classes per week are recommended.
